Visiun President and CEO Hosts Test Utilization Session at the 2017 G2 Lab Institute Meeting

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Visiun is pleased to announce that Tom Joseph, Visiun President & CEO, will be presenting at the 2017 G2 Lab Institute Meeting.  The presentation, titled ‘Using Laboratory Analytics to Manage Over and Underutilization of Testing for Better Patient Care and Improved Financial Performance’, will take place on Thursday, October 26, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, at 4:30PM.

In an environment of decreasing reimbursement, managing test utilization to reduce unnecessary testing is one of the greatest opportunities for laboratories to improve financial performance while enhancing patient care.  Joseph will provide an overview of the environment that has fueled an increased focus on test utilization and will examine the approaches health systems are using to manage both overutilization and underutilization using laboratory analytics.  An analysis of industry data will be discussed including surveys of physician practice patterns along with key benchmarks to highlight the scale of opportunities across the industry, from community hospitals to leading academic medical centers.  Attendees can expect an in-depth look into the variety of strategies health systems can follow to manage improved utilization efforts and how analytics are driving improved utilization practices in the laboratory.
